In the packaging of the product, the tools involve the
creation of the set of aluminum molds and cutting dies, collectively referred
to as tools, which are used in the manufacturing process to form and cut
thermoformed containers. First Choice Packaging (FCP) has experts in in-house
tools that work with customers at every step to ensure that the final packaging
meets the specifications and approved expectations before going to full mass
production. Unless available as a standard package, the tools are a necessary
step for all custom thermoformed plastics, including ampoules, clamshells,
trays and food
packaging solutions.
Rigorous tool configuration and rapid response
To create and configure the tool, approved packaging designs
are imported from SolidWorks 3D CAD files to Virtual Gibbs CAM software to
generate accurate routes to cut production tools. FCP tool experts put the tool
through a rigorous setup and production process to precisely machine the
aluminum mold and other tool components. FCP is equipped with multiple CNC
machines that operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to guarantee the precise
configuration of the tool with a fast response time.
Extensive testing of tools
Before starting full production, the new tools undergo an
extensive process of testing and approval. Ideally, the package should
"fit like a glove" to achieve desired packaging specifications,
functionality and appeal for the shelf.
In production!
After the aluminum production molds are approved, the tools
are used in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and are carefully
stored after work for future executions. Once the initial configuration of the
tool is completed, there are usually no additional tool charges to rerun the
packaging in the future, which makes longevity another benefit of the excellent
tools.
